Chanute Air Force Base opened in 1921. CAFB became a real air base in 1941 Chanute became the premier training base in WW2. Through most of the Cold War Chanute was pivotal with it's training etc. I salute those that did their training etc. at the old Chanute AFB! I will do my best to identify the photos I have here. Other then the photos of Whitehall, most of the buildings run together. If anyone has details they would like to add I will be happy to do so.
